News

I don't have an inside track into Prong, so this news section isn't intended to be the bleeding edge of all things Prong. However, if I find something out, I'll happily post it here.

NY Tines release un-official DVD
16 September 2005
The New York Tines has released an un-official Prong DVD.

The new DVD, entitled "The Complete Music Videos 1987-2004" is exactly that - all 14 of Prong's music videos from "In My Veins" to Scorpio Rising's "All Knowing Force".

There is also a surprise bonus section - you will have to buy the DVD to find out what it is because I don't know!

This DVD is an absolute MUST for all Prong fans and is a bargain at $19 ($21 international) including shipping.

Prong are myspaced out!
05 September 2005
Prong has gone myspace mad recently! Most of the band are on there these days! The most important thing about all of this is the demo version of a new track available to listen to on Prong's myspace page. It kicks ass, so go, there, download it and add yourself to Prong's myspace friend list!

I have a myspace account now too: http://myspace.com/duffkin. But can you believe it? Someone else has the omnium handle on myspace! Dirty rotten scoundrel!

Prong has a new drummer
05 September 2005
Dan Laudo is no longer playng for Prong. He has left to pursue other ventures such as Big On Mars and Subsonic. Go to Dan's site for full details, links and downloads

Dan's the man, we had a great time watching him play and chilling after the shows. We wish him all the luck with his new projects!

Replacing Dan is Aaron Rossi. He doesn't like to mess around - having played, recorded and toured with the likes of GUILT BY ASSOCIATION, JOHN 5, JOHN SYKES, ANKLA, STRIFE, SHELTER, TONELADA and LOGAN MADER.

My site is being updated again
05 September 2005
After many months away, I've decided to make a few small updates to my site. The FTP access was broken for ages, and I've only just got around to fixing it so that I can upload some new stuff.

So far, I've only updated the Merchandise section with some new pictures of some Prong shirts that have been sent to me recently. But I am about to update the front page too, because it claims the DVD is "about to be released" when it was actually released ages ago! Doh!

Prong DVD Announced
03 March 2005
Prong are about to release their first ever DVD on 14th March 2005. So far, only German stores appear to have it listed.

The wording on the back cover says:

"The Vault is a truly unique compilation of three different Prong performances at three different stages of their return."
"In addition to performance clips of the band in action, it features interviews with Tommy Victor, unseen backstage scenes of different band members and an incredible bootleg recording of a show during their touring in the US."
"The majority of this material has never been seen before. Not only is it rare, but it is startingly great."
"Screen: 4:3 NTSC/PAL, Sound: PCM Stereo, Country Code: All Regions, Duration: Appr 4 hrs"

It looks like there will not be a collection of their past music videos on this DVD. I am guessing that there is a legal publishing problem with them because they were mostly produced when Prong were signed to Sony.

According to No One on the forum, the "3 different performances are reportedly: Melkweg, Amsterdam october 2002, With Full Force festival Germany and Hultsfred Sweden". And his sources are usually very good. Although, the cover from Amazon states that there are bootleg clips from their US Tour.

You can pre-order it on Amazon.de now.

Official Website is down
03 March 2005

The Official Prong website is currently down. My sources tell me that they are moving hosting providers or something and are having problems with the transfer, though this may be far from the truth.

US Release delayed further
26 September 2003
According to our man in the know, Flips, the new Prong album is not going to be out Stateside until the first quarter of 2004.

Those keen to get their hands on the CD are still urged to visit Amazon.co.uk and import it themselves. Many people have written to me with happy tales of receiving the goods in a matter of days; and nobody has reported any negative experiences so far.

I am not going to publish the lyrics until after the album is released worldwide, so if you want to know what Tommy is rambling on about, you will NEED to buy the real thing!

Thanks to Mike Longworth (Prong, Bass) for posting this to the Prong Forum for us all to see.

New Prong Forum is up an running
27 August 2003
The New Prong Forum is up an running! It is a wonder of new technology, using PHP and all that fancy stuff. There are some great new features to be had, including "Avatars" (a picture to acompany your posts), animated Smilies, Opinion Polls, and a Chat Room!

If you haven't been there yet, you ought to go there NOW! Just watch out for the default colour scheme of Dark Blue on Black - it's a bit strange but you can change it once you register/logon.

I've updated my menu to take you to the new forum - we don't use the old forum much these days.

There is no news!
16 August 2003
Unfortunately, there is still no news about a release date for Scorpio Rising in US.

In other news, Tommy is rehearsing for the forthcoming tour and studio sessions with Danzig (see the Danzig sites for more news of that crap) and Monte is alleged to be doing some more Madonna gigs in US.

Prong Lyrics Section now up
04 August 2003
I've added a new Lyrics section to the site. I haven't typed them up, I just collected them from the web, so there are no Scorpio Rising lyrics up yet. If anyone can be bothered to type them out, please send them to me!

Prong still haven't released the album in the U.S. yet, but release is said to be very soon now. You can still order the CD from Amazon.co.uk for, I am toldm, about $25 including standard delivery, or $35 for DHL next day delivery.

In other news, Ted Parsons is about to embark on a tour with Killing Joke. They will be playing the Camden Underworld for those of you lucky to have already bought tickets (it's sold out now; and I didn't manage to get a ticket). Otherwise you'll have to wait for the October show in the Astoria.

Scorpio Rising Released!
21 July 2003
Scorpio Rising has been released. Officially, the release date was today, 21 July 2003, however, Batman bought my copy from HMV in Kingston on Friday. Amazon shipped my CD on Sunday and it arrived the this morning. This is all great news.

The artwork for the album has a mistake too. Letter To A "Friend" and Entrance Of The Eclipse are reversed on the lyricsheet and on the back cover. I imagine this will be corrected and my CD will become a collector's item. ;)
